There are two sets of maps of the Hidden Gems proposal areas: a set of static maps showing each proposal area and an interactive map showing the entire landscape covered by the proposal. We've also included a list of the proposla areas at the bottom of this page.
The static maps can be found here, and are the most up to date set of maps. They are arranged both alphabetically and by county. We frequently change the boundaries of our areas in response to feedback from the public. As soon as these changes are approved we’ll replace the old map with the new one.
The interactive map can be found here. If you don’t know the name of a specific proposal area its best to start with the interactive map to find the part of the landscape in which you are most interested and see where our proposal areas are in relation to part of the landscape you already know. On the interactive map you can turn on or off various layers of information: roads and trails, existing wilderness, and the Hidden Gems proposal areas. Because the interactive map contains so much information it is updated less frequently (about every week) so may not reflect a boundary change you just read about in the paper.
