Wilderness is such an important part of what makes Colorado special. The Hidden Gems would protect over 100,000 acres in Pitkin and Gunnison Counties of important low elevation habitat, and safeguard our wildlife and clean water.
Over the years, the Hidden Gems Campaign has engaged in thoughtful and extensive outreach to all concerned groups, even their opponents, in order to ensure the proposal really is citizen generated. Even if everybody doesn't agree, everyone has had a seat at the table.
Now that the proposal is complete and it is clear there is broad-based support, it is time to designate the Hidden Gems as wilderness.
Please do the right thing for our future generations and introduce the Citizens’ Proposed Hidden Gems Wilderness Proposal to Congress as soon as possible.
